Tulip praestans Fusilier
This Tulipa praestans Fusilier is a beautiful red spring bloomer. This selection is a low-growing tulip that produces multiple flower stems per bulb. Great for your patio or border, these beauties grow to about 25 cm high and will bloom in April. These tulips with their pointed shapes look elegant. Place them in full sun or a spot with partial shade. They will shine when planted together with other tulips in your garden, for example with the lily-flowered tulip Greenstar, or you can simply pot them, ensuring that the soil is well-drained. This unusual name refers to a weapon carried by soldiers in the 17th century, a musket with a flintlock, perhaps because of the beautiful fiery red colour of this tulip.
