Tulip Rasta Parrot®
Tulip Rasta Parrot: An Exotic Explosion of Color in Your Garden
Are you looking for a tulip that is guaranteed to turn heads? The Tulip Rasta Parrot is one of the most spectacular sights in the world of spring-blooming flowers. With its whimsically shaped, fringed petals and an explosion of vibrant colors, this Parrot Tulip brings a tropical vibe to your borders or patio containers.
Why choose the Rasta Parrot Tulip? The Rasta Parrot is famous for its unique color combination that evolves as the flower matures. The blooms showcase an artistic blend of bright red, golden yellow, and a touch of fresh green – the iconic colors that give this tulip its name.
Unique Texture: The petals are deeply incised and wavy, resembling the feathers of an exotic tropical bird.
Long Blooming Period: This tulip flowers in late spring (April/May) and, thanks to its sturdy stem, stays beautiful for a long time both in the garden and as a cut flower in a vase.
Large Blooms: The flower heads are impressively large and open wide when basking in the full sun.
Planting Advice for Parrot Tulips For the best results, plant your Tulip Rasta Parrot bulbs between September and December, before the first hard frost hits.
Specifications and Care:
Growth Height: The Rasta Parrot reaches approximately 40 to 50 cm (16-20 inches).
Location: Choose a spot in full sun or partial shade. Parrot tulips prefer a sheltered location, as their large, heavy flower heads can be sensitive to strong winds.
Soil: Ensure well-draining soil to prevent the bulbs from getting too wet during the winter months.
Planting Depth: Plant the bulbs about 10-15 cm deep (roughly two to three times the height of the bulb).
